Large Black Hogs Available

Large Black Hogs - Also known by Cornwall, Devon, Lap-eared Black

The Large Black had its origins in the Old English Hog of the 16th and 17th centuries blended with Chinese breed brought to England in the late 1800's. After 1900, the Large Black became well-known outside of its native region and spread throughout Great Britain.

The LBH was added to the Heritage or Rare Breed Survival Trust as a 'critical' breed in 1973. The LBH are known for their mothering ability, milk capacity and prolificacy, as well as their unaggressive temperament. Known for their lean pork we have introduced this breed to Reflections Ranch.
